Bills filed about No Homework Policy
Deputy Speaker and Sorsogon Representative Evelina Escudero and Quezon City Representative Alfred Vargas filed a bill regarding no homework policy at the House of Representative.
Evelina's House Bill No. 3611 aims to ban homework from Kinder to High School as a class requirement and conduct all activities in the campus.
In line with this, her bill also seeks to not let students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 bring home their heavy bags for their assignment.
Meanwhile, Vargas filed House Bill No. 3883 or the no-homework policy every weekend. Before, violators of this bill will be fine 50,000 pesos and will be in jail for one to two years. Vargas said that it was a mistake, and he removed the provision in his bill.
Both Vargas and Escudero believed that children should enjoy and be given quality time to their family.
Poe, filed a Senate bill about ‘No-homework’ policy
After Deputy Speaker and Sorsogon Representative Evelina Escudero and Quezon City Representative Alfred Vargas Senator filed a bill about no-homework policy, Senator Grace Poe also filed a Senate bill mandating teacher not to give home work to students on weekends.
Senate Bill 966 or the proposed “No Homework Law” was authored by Poe.
The senator said that the policy will we applied to both public and private school.
