How I met LANY and Attended their Concert for FREE

Every fan dreams of meeting his/her favorite singer, dancer, artist and band in person.
Every fan dreams of going on a concert of his/her favorite band.
Every fan dreams of talking closely to his/her favorite band.
Every fan dreams of taking pictures with his/her favorite band.
Every fan dreams of hugging his/her band while thanking them for existing.
I am one of those fans.
I always dream of going on a concert, taking pictures, recording videos and singing along while my
favorite band is performing on stage but then I suddenly realized that it is impossible since I don't have
money to afford pricey tickets for a concert.
When it has been announced last November 2018 that LANY will have their concert here in Manila, I
literally felt excited and sad. Excited because they're coming here again and sad because I am not able to
see them again and I am losing the chance that the universe is giving me since I can't afford to buy
concert tickets because I am just a broke and poor fan.
First day of the ticket selling, tickets were sold out and it even hurts more when they announced that
there will be a Day 2. I felt that excitement again because they are spending their 2 days here in Manila
but still, I don't have a chance to attend the concert.
I don't believe in signs but sometimes I ask for it. I said, if there will be a Day 3 then I will buy a General
Admission ticket since it is less pricey. And then boom! I don't know what to feel but I felt that it's a
triple kill. LANY will stay in Manila not just for a day or two but for a three-day concert.
My original decision is to buy a Gen Ad ticket but unfortunately, we had classes on the ticket selling day
so still, I don't have any ticket.
Fast forward 2019. I joined a VIP Ticket Giveaway on YouTube and so I joined with full courage hoping to
win and see LANY performing live. Unfortunately I didn't won but still I gained friends from my co-
stanbase.

July 2019. It's the month of the concert and their concert dates were July 23, 24 and 25. I am slowly
accepting the fact that I can't go to their concert but God knows how I really wanted to. Two weeks
before the concert, I was about to buy ticket on those who are selling on Facebook but the price is twice
the original.
1 week before the concert, I decided to search for giveaways on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Luckily, I found an Upper Box and Gen Ad Ticket Giveaway on Twitter and so I joined.
The announcement of the Gen Ad Ticket winner is the day after I joined the giveaway. Never in my life
I've won on these stuff but a great thanks to a random picker for choosing my Twitter username and so I
won the ticket. I felt so happy because finally, I'll be seeing LANY performing live.
July 22. I also joined on a meet and greet contest conducted by Karpos Multimedia on Instagram. The
mechanics of the giveaway is to answer the question: IF YOU SEE LANY, what will you say to them? For
the second time, I tried my luck.
July 23. The Day 1 of the concert and the day that I got my ticket for Day 3. A big thanks to Ate
@VIPotato who conducted the giveaway on Twitter.
July 24. The Day 2 of the concert, I found out that MMI Live is also doing a meet and greet contest on
Twitter and Instagram. MMI Live's contest is a little bit challenging since it is an OOTD Challenge with
LANY in which you have to pose and wear the same outfit on a certain picture of Paul, Jake and Les.
I decided to focus on Karpos Multimedia's contest on IG and almost every hour, I am posting a
comment on their IG post on what will I say to LANY if I will be given the opportunity to meet them.
Since the contest was posted on their IG account, I flooded the post with comments hoping that they
will choose me as a winner and guess what? Due to my flood comments, I was blocked on commenting
for almost hours but good thing is, my initial comments were not removed.
July 25. The Day 3 and the last day of Malibu Nights World Tour in Manila. I am so excited because
finally, after how many giveaways that I've joined, I am now finally going to see them.
I was about to go to the venue when I received a dm on Instagram. It was from Karpos Multimedia
saying that I am one of the meet and greet winners. I don't know what did I do to deserve this but that
time, I am the happiest.
I arrived at MOA Arena about 1 pm even the entrance in Arena will be open at 6 pm and the meet and
greet was held 5 pm right before the concert.
Seeing my co-fans crying makes me wanna cry to but I have to stay still because I don't want to look
weird on our picture.
I prepared a letter for them hoping that they would read it. We are planning to ask for an autograph but
the management is strict, they only allowed gifts and a photo opportunity from their official
photographer. It is all fine as long as it's for LANY.
When I entered the VIP Suite where Paul, Jake and Les is there, I think my heart skipped a beat for a
while. Sounds OA but it's true. The moment I saw them, I am still figuring out if this is real or not but
when I run to Paul and hugged him, he hugged me back. This is so real. I want to cry but I forced my
tears not to come out lol. Jake is so hot and Les is very adorable. I gave them the letter and I hugged
them all.
Paul said, "Hey there, don't cry." I didn't know what to respond but I just kept on saying "Oh my God, I
love you." That moment was so perfect. I am so speechless right after I went out the suite. Everything
that day is so damn perfect.
The concert started at 8 pm and that was the best feeling ever. We created a pink ocean in the Arena.
The setlist is perfect and the crowd is wild specially in the VIP standing. In our area where it is a seated
section but when LANY came out, everyone stood up and started to sing along.
When Paul sang Pink Skies and changed the lyrics and sang instead, "You are my favorite everything,
been telling you that since 2019." We definitely felt that! Best feeling ever. Best experience ever.
His message at the end of the concert make the crowd miss them more. Paul keeps saying "Mahal kita.
Mahal kita." They also thanked the fans for spending efforts, money and time just to see them. We
couldn't agree more, they are the best band for us.
I was enjoying the whole time, cherishing the moment and thinking when will I see them again. But one
thing is for sure, LANY is home.
It's been a more than a month since I went to their concert.
It's been more than a month since I hugged Paul, Jake and Les.
It's been more than a month since I saw them in person and took a pic with them.
It's been more than a month but this feeling, the best feeling will always stay forever.
Surely, I'll stan LANY, 4EVER!
